On February 19, 1812, 24 year old Adoniram and his young wife set sail for India and though they were rejected entrance into India to preach to the Hindus, they finally found an open door in Burma. On arrival, they faced many challenges. There was not one known Christian among Burma’s population of millions. They had no friends and the region where they lived was infested with robbers.
